About the Opportunity

We are looking for a talented People Operations Manager to help us take our team to the next level. This role will offer the opportunity to build, execute and own people programs across the organization. We are a small but growing (and mighty!) team, we’ve grown from 10 to 40 over the last two years and have expanded our business to cover Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa. This is our first full time HR hire, we have good foundational practices in place but are ready for a true people partner to help level up the entire organization.

​​You will have strategic and operational ownership of all HR functions including feedback and performance, employee engagement, compensation and benefits, and all people-related programs, processes, and policies

You’ll develop and implement learning and development programs that enhance the team’s skills, capabilities, and promote career progression. You’re passionate about creating an incredible employee onboarding experience that leads to higher levels of time to value and employee satisfaction.

You’ll be a compassionate and bar-raising partner to all employees with a strong focus on developing and refining leadership abilities

About the Deliverables

  • Work closely with members of the leadership team to develop the company’s strategy on performance management, recruiting, learning, and professional development programs.
  • Lead day to day HR functions including, but not limited to employee relations, on-boarding, disciplinary matters, talent management, training and development, compensation and benefit reviews, recruiting, policies and practices.
  • Develop and update procedures, policies and company guidelines.
  • Develop and manage reward and recognition programs.
  • Coordinate the identification and development of training programs throughout all functions and levels, and ensure they are sufficient and aligned with the business strategy.
  • Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.

About You

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience
  • Previous experience working in a high-growth organization
  • Demonstrated success in building training and development programs, cultural development, performance management, compensation planning, total rewards, employee relations
  • You’re an empathetic leader with a strong bias for action
  • Strong working knowledge of Canadian employment law, practices, and policies (Foundational WSIB knowledge would be an asset)
